Cepal participated in the 4th Real Estate Conference

Cepal participated in the 4th Real Estate Conference, titled “A New Era for the Real Estate Market – Opportunities & Challenges”, actively contributing to the dialogue on developments in the real estate market and the management of private debt.

Theodore Athanasopoulos, Cepal CEO, took part in the panel “Private Debt: The next day in real estate management”, highlighting the need for the public dialogue around the role of servicers in the real estate market to be based on actual data and the real picture of the market. As he noted, the number of properties acquired through enforcement procedures is not such as to affect the market as a whole, while their management is linked to the protection of loan value and the effective servicing of securitisations.

At the same time, Mr. Athanasopoulos underlined the need to accelerate critical procedures affecting the management of private debt, including delays in the administration of justice, legalisation and property registration procedures, as well as reforms that can facilitate the functioning of the market.
